LIFE Program
The Life Program is an intensive free outreach based, 6-12 month program. The identified client is the parent or caregiver of the family. The LIFE Program was designed to assist and support high-risk families to lessen risk factors, which can lead to child abuse and neglect, PRIOR to an incident of abuse occurring.
CYN has been providing intensive counseling and case management services to families since 1978. As an agency, we strive to provide the residents of Lake County and surrounding communities high quality, comprehensive social services, designed to preserve and strengthen families, while protecting children from abusive or high risk situations.
The LIFE Program allows us to expand our services and work in a preventive manner to reduce the risk of abuse to children by helping the parent overcome the risk factors that exist in the family.
The approach of the LIFE Program has its roots in the WRAPAROUND concept and nice “life domains” are encompassed The program is a strength-based team approach, which includes not only case management and linage services, but also therapeutic counseling services.
Participation in LIFE is voluntary and referrals come from a variety of sources, not excluding the family themselves. LIFE clients MUST NOT have any current open DCFS indicated reports of child abuse and/or neglect against them.
Each family must meet the criteria of a high-risk family -have a child between the age of 1 day—17 years of age living in the home.
